Just a quick note - the day has finally arrived! We've got 5 bags to check and 3 carry-ons. Our route takes us from Minneapolis to Memphis (why I have no idea) to Amsterdam (where we'll get to explore the city for at least part of our 7 hour layover) and then to Almaty, KZ. We get to Almaty at 5:45 am Sunday and head to Astana on Monday a.m. We're hoping to see our boy on Monday and of course we'll keep you all posted!

Chandra, unfortunately I didn't get a chance to speak with you before your departure. Although, looks like I could be traveling with you on your trip #2. Thank you for sharing your journey with me.
